Ospreys at Patoka Lake : Ospreys and Blue Herons found at Patoka Lake. These photos were taken from aboard a pontoon boat that we rented for the day. The pontoon boat gave me access to nesting areas that are totally unaccessable from land. Some of the ospreys are now building their nests in natural nesting sites rather than in man-built nesting platforms. I much prefer the natural sites. Enjoy!!

January 2009 Snow : A large snowfall the morning of January 28th provided a playground for some 4-wheelers and great scenery for a few good photographs. These were all taken in the Patoka river bottoms between Huntingburg and Duff, except for the Shiloh church.

Eagles of the Mississippi - 2009 : I traveled to the Mississippi River the 2nd week of January 09 to photograph the eagles that had gathered at the locks and dams. I was joined by fellow photographer Doug Cave on this trip, and he got an equal number of excellent photos. These photos are presented in chronological order (except for the very 1st photo), so I will add location information when time permits. We visited lock and dams at Quincy, IL., Canton, MO., Keokuk, IA., and Burlington, IA.

Sandhill Cranes of Goose Pond : Sandhill Cranes migrating North made a stopover at Goose Pond wildlife area located south of Linton Indiana. There were several thousand Sandhills at this site. The sound that they make is unmistakeable and unforgetable.
